Key Works
1. The irrigation reservoir upstream of the Tri River in Ky Hoa Commune, Ky Anh District, with a total investment capital of 87.1 billion VND. When completed, the work will supply water for Vung Ang economic zone with a capacity of 116.7m3/day and agricultural production, create environmental scenery for eco-tourism, and prevent flood and erosion in the River’s downstream areas.
2. Thach Khe iron mine exploitation: Thach Khe iron mine in Thach Ha District covers 1,800ha with a deposit of 544.08 million tonnes. It employs 2,460 workers. At present, the pre-feasible project has been proved by the Government and steps are taken for implementation.
3. Vung Ang metallurgy complex: With a capacity of 4.5 million tons/year and an expected investment capital of 3.5 billion USD, the project is submitted to the Prime Minister by the State’s Appraisal Council for Approval.
4. Vung Ang electricity centre with a capacity of 3,600MW (in the first stage: 1,200MW). 5. Pigment factory with an expected capacity of 25,000-30,000 tonnes/year and a total investment capital of 100 million USD. The factory is expected to submit the feasible-study report and to operate in early 2008.
6. Ngan Truoi-Cam Trang irrigation and hydro-electric power work With a capacity of 800 million m3, the work combined irrigation and hydro-electricity supplies water for agricultural production, serves the local people’s daily life and the exploitation of Thach Khe iron mine, making a contribution to improving the ecological environment and minimizing the flash flood in the River’s downstream areas. The work, capitalized at 2,700 billion VND, was approved the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in the planning on the use of water source from the Ca River. At present, the feasible project is quickly mapped out.
